Geometric has designed assembly tools in North America for over 50 years, since the infancy of the computer age. We have an experienced tool design team that has assembled vast libraries of standard and unique tooling. Our design team has more than 100 years experience with current Management, with capabilities in CATIA, Siemens PLM (formerly UGS), SolidWorks and AutoCAD. We have delivered projects varying from a stand-alone manually activated assembly tool, producing 6 jobs per hour, to complete under-body assemblies, producing 90+ jobs per hour for major automotive manufacturers. We were also involved with the design of wing to fuselage tooling for the Boeing 777. With updated component libraries and constant mirrored back-up servers, we are well equipped to serve our customers efficiently.

Tool Accessibility Studies

Our tool design and accessibility studies include :
- 3D files for development
- 2D drawing for documentation under-body
- Selection of power tools and sockets
|

Master Data Modeling

Math is organized into 3D digital model and shows all parts, welds and datums for a complete zone. Applied weld attributes provide approved joining criteria (resistance, laser, projection, arc, clinch, etc.) and Datum location and control directions are displayed for GDT and downstream tool design use.

Tool Cost Estimation

Estimates consist of labor hours for construction based on machining content, assembly, and fabrication.

Weld Studies

Weld studies document the location and critical characteristics of each weld. Manufacturing engineering analyzes each weld with respect to its location, metal type and thickness. The information is then documented on the assembly build documents.

Weld Equipment Selection

Weld guns are selected from the CAD library and positioned on to the product to check for weld accessibility, clearance to tooling and proper welding specs including gun pressure, transformer sizing, etc.
